Lifts, loading bays and the concierge
Most of the larger blocks want a lift booked and a loading bay reserved, and some ask for a time slot in writing before they will let a van sit anywhere near the doors. If you tell us the building when you get in touch, we will tell you what it usually asks for and work to whatever window the management gives you.
Where a lift is small or shared, we plan the run order so the bulky pieces go first and the neighbours are not left waiting on it for an hour.
Height barriers and where the van actually stops
The barrier over an underground car park is the single thing that catches removals out in the Bay. A tall van cannot follow you down, so the load has to come out at street level, and that changes how long the job takes and how many hands it needs. We would rather know in advance and price it honestly than turn up and improvise.
Where there is no bay to use, we work out the nearest legal stopping point and keep the carry short. The waterfront paths are level, which helps more than people expect.
Furnished lets and part loads
A lot of Bay flats let furnished, so the move is often clothes, kitchen things, a desk and a bike rather than a houseful. That is a smaller van and a shorter day, and the price should reflect it. Ask for a quote on what is actually moving instead of paying for a three-bed van you do not need.
Single-item collections from the retail parks and marketplace pickups around the Bay are regular jobs for us too.
