Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Van and Man Cardiff collects when you contact us, how we use it, and your rights over it. It applies to this website and to enquiries made through it.

What we collect

When you fill in a quote form or email us, we collect the details you provide: your name, phone number, email address, the service you need, your area or postcode, and any description of the move you give. We only ask for what we need to price and arrange the job.

How we use it

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, price your job and arrange the move. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.

Who we share it with

To arrange your move we pass your details to a local firm we work with, whose crew prices the job and carries it out. That is what happens to every enquiry, so it is worth knowing before you submit the form.

Once your details reach them they hold them as their own data controller, under their own privacy policy. Ask for it if you want to know how long they keep your information or how to make a request to them.

We also use Google Sheets to store enquiries so we can keep track of them. Beyond that we do not share your details with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to arrange the job and meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete them. The firm carrying out the work keeps its own records separately, under its own policy.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. To make a request, use the contact form, or call 029 2252 1017.

Cookies

Beyond the map described below, this site sets only the cookies needed to make it work unless you agree to more. If you accept in the banner, we load Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how the site is used, with IP addresses anonymised. Decline and no analytics cookies are set at all. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

The maps on the contact page and in the footer are Google Maps, and they load with the page rather than waiting to be asked. Google sets its own cookies when one loads and receives your IP address as part of the request, whatever you chose in the cookie banner. The footer map is only fetched once you scroll far enough down a page to reach it. If you would rather not load them at all, a browser set to block third-party content will stop them, and the rest of the site works without them.
