Georgian houses, and the stairs inside them
The tall terraces Bath is known for are beautiful and awkward in equal measure. Four or five floors, a staircase that turns tightly at every landing, and often steps up from the pavement before you even reach the door. A flat on the top floor of one of those is a different job to a top floor flat in a modern block with a lift.

Where the van can actually stop
Much of central Bath is residents' permit parking, and a lot of the streets are too narrow to block for an hour without causing a problem. Bath and North East Somerset issue permits for removals, and applying for one in advance is the difference between parking outside and carrying from three streets away.
Do that as soon as you have a date. It is the single most useful thing you can do for a Bath move and it costs very little.
The clean air zone
Bath runs a clean air zone covering the city centre, charging non-compliant vans daily. It does not charge private cars, which catches people out in both directions, because they assume it either applies to everything or to nothing.
Ask whether the van meets the standard and whether the charge is in the quote. As with everywhere else, it should be stated rather than appearing afterwards.
