Where the volume actually is
Bedrooms are a poor guide to how much there is. The loft, the garage, the shed and the under stairs cupboard routinely hold as much as a whole bedroom, and they are what turns a comfortable one van job into a second run. When you ask for a quote, walk those four spaces first and count them in.
Houses in Rhiwbina, Cyncoed, Llanishen and Whitchurch tend to have all four. Terraces in Canton, Riverside and Grangetown often have none, and a three bed terrace can be a smaller load than a two bed semi with a full garage.
Two people, a large van, and a plan for the day
At this size we send two, and for the heaviest houses three. The order matters as much as the muscle: the van is loaded so the first things off are the ones you need first at the other end, and beds go on last so they come off first and can be rebuilt before the light goes.

What the price includes
- The van, the fuel and the driver
- A driver who carries, loads and stacks rather than watching you do it
- Blankets, straps and trolley to protect what is being moved
- Loading and unloading at both ends, including stairs
- The parking sorted before the day rather than argued about on it
What moves the number
- Floor and lift access. A third floor walk up in Cathays takes longer than a ground floor flat in Rhiwbina, and time is what the price is made of.
- Where the van can stop. A bay outside is one price, a hundred metre carry from the nearest legal loading point in the city centre is another.
- How much there actually is. Lofts, garages and sheds are where quotes go wrong, so count them in when you tell us.
- Whether it needs two people. Wardrobes, sofa beds, American fridge freezers and pianos usually do.
- Dismantling and reassembly, if flat pack furniture has to come apart to get out of the room.
